Well today UGO bought 1up.com and then proceeded to layoff 40 staff members. Many of those staff members were responsible for the 1up show video podcast, and the various 1up podcast. Seriously what the fuck.. they bought the 1up brand, but the brand is known for their other various forms of video game media. Which fostered a strong user community that gathered around that media. Only time will tell how this is going to turn around such negative publicity. many of the ex staffers are on twitter so find their pages and continue to fallow their exploits. Best of luck to all former journals and layoff survivors. Tina the community manger for 1up is going to have her work cut out for her, if she can keep the community together in these desperate times.
