I think in a month or I'll do a show talking about how my thought about the game change as i level up.

What is going

Hey the five people that have been reading this blog. Life has been somewhat crazy for so i'll catch you up. I gradutated from college in may, now i am on the job hunt while continuing to work my part time country club job.

I was starting a website but i need additional help to get that set up, and couldn't dedicate enough time to write consitently.

Anywho no one cares about that here are some games that i am really cutting my teeth on.

Dawn of War 2: RTS for anyone, i have allways been into strategy games but i can't handle large amounts of micromanaging. Dawn of war fixes this by allowing the player to only control 4 units at a time. This leaves the player to focus on tactics. It's almost like playing with plastic army men. While simplyfied advance tactics are still posible. For example throwing a stun granade at an advancing enemy, while the enemy is stun having you heavy assualt forces jump jet ontop of the stunned troops.

Civalization 4: Great late night game for me. When i want to play something engaging while still being in a relaxed state of mind. Steam offered a bundle for the original game and the 3 other expansions for $40 bucks. Can't beat the value at all.

UFC 2009 : if you follow this sport at all there is no doubt you are going to enjoy this game. You can do just about anything that happens in the octagon in this game. Online is kinda annoying and the menus take forever to get through but this is still a fantastic first offering i can't wait to see where they go with the next one.

What Makes COD 4 > COD:World at War

1) Weapon Camos : the weapon camo give players an incentive to keep players to continue to use specific gun.
2) Weapons- lets face it the modern weapons just work better then their world war 2 counter parts.
3) No Dogs - dogs are a little overpowered, a concentrated fire on a helicopter will take it down in no time, while dogs spread out and single out players which makes it harder to handle.
4) No tanks- i like that Treyarch tried bring vehicles into multiplayer, but they are just over powered and can be abused by cordnated players.

Game RAge Radio Episode 6

well were finally all back from winter break and the stars aligned and we were able to record a new show. This is the first show from new location at Chris's new apartment were are still getting used to acoustics of the room which is much larger then the dorm room we originally did the show from. So there is a slight bump in quality which will be worked on in the next episode.

we cover what we played on our winter breaks, then we dive into terrible game glitches. We get a little idealistic at the end but that always something to strive for.

Silence of the Podcasts

Well today UGO bought 1up.com and then proceeded to layoff 40 staff members. Many of those staff members were responsible for the 1up show video podcast, and the various 1up podcast. Seriously what the fuck.. they bought the 1up brand, but the brand is known for their other various forms of video game media. Which fostered a strong  user community that gathered around that media.  Only time will tell how this is going to turn around such negative publicity.

many of the ex staffers are on twitter so find their pages and continue to fallow their exploits. Best of luck to all former journals and layoff survivors.  Tina the community manger for 1up is going to have her work cut out for her, if she can keep the community together in these desperate  times.

today was a bummer to say the least

iPhone Games

I just downloaded the Super Monkey Ball game for the iPhone and have to say it's pretty fun. Not sure yet if it was worth $7.99 but time will tell. The controls use the phones accelerometer to control the game and at times can be extremely frustrating to get a good feel for. I don't think I'll be paying for many more apps or games after this because the ease with which I spent $7.99 on this seems like something that could become a dangerously expensive habit. Even $.99 at a time can add up quickly for cheaper items. So if you can go with the free games. I recommend Scramboni, a word puzzle game that pits you against other players and Lock n Roll, a dice based game that is simple yet addicting. Tap Tap is also a good one. It's like guitar hero for the iPhone. Until next time kids....
